Your vote is your right

As days go, the 2023 general election is coming nearer, and people need to be enlightened about the electioneering process and their political right to vote and be voted for in any political election as a qualified adult citizen.

Meanwhile, the media should play its vital role in society by enlightening the public on voter education, especially using radio as a means, which is portable and accessible for those living far and near, rich or poor. Because it is only on this basis that people can come out of the deceptive trap of some political orators.

Thus, it is only in our dear country (Nigeria) that one can encounter with a numerous political party with new ones emerging day-in-day-out, and also an ardent supporter of a political party with no clearer view of the party aims and objectives, party manifesto and his own sense of responsibility, but yet fighting for someone to occupy a sit for their selfish interest.

What is happening in today’s politics can be said to be out of content in the Nigeria politics we knew before. When Nigeria started in the first republic the political system in general was unlike what we are seeing today. Good leaders with good vision in heart to take and uplift the glory the country, through the support they get from good citizens of the country.

The power of Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) should not be underestimated as a fundamental tool to bring about change. With the PVC in hand, the choice is yours to decide for a leader. And people should know the right person that deserves their vote and should not be taken as granted because it only happens once in four years.

For that reason, a political leader that possess the qualities of leadership and can protect the people’s lives and properties, and placed their interest above his own personal interests, and protecting the interest and the glory of the country. With such kind of leaders, people will have a peace of mind and develop the courage to overcome other life challenges for a better living.

Therefore, the inability to obtain your PVC is tantamount to selling your right at no cost. Because your vote is your right and that right can only be claimed by obtaining your PVC.
