The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN (southern region) has described as “unfortunate” and “parochial” the comment credited to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) on the inclusion of Shariah in the constitution.
PFN President, Bishop Wale Oke, had urged the Senate to avoid surreptitious moves to introduce Sharia law to the South-West region through the ongoing constitution review.

But MSSN, in a statement, accused the PFN of heating up the polity.
The statement was signed by the President, Qaasim Odedeji; Secretary, Abdul-Jalil Abdur-Razaq and Public Relations Officer, Mos’ud Tohir on Monday in Abeokuta.
It said, “Instead of heating up the polity unnecessarily every time Islam is on the table, PFN and its sympathizers should rather settle for profitable ventures to advance their insatiable appetite for sustained religious egocentrism, hegemony and suffocation of anything Islamic.”
