President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday assured foreign oil companies operating in the country of the security of their investments.
Buhari, who declared open, the third edition of the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit in Abuja, said Nigeria, as a major oil producing nation, remained ready and accessible for legitimate investments from interested countries, individuals and partners.
The president, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said: “Let me assure our foreign delegates that their investments are well secure in Nigeria and a high return on investment is always guaranteed. It can’t get better anywhere.”
To achieve a safe and secure environment, Buhari said his administration had taken steps to reposition the oil and gas sector.
He said his government was working to increase refineries’ production capacity, improve stakeholders management, international relations and bi-lateral coordination.
