The woman whose sons were killed and teenage daughter abducted when gunmen raided their residence in Adamawa State in the wee hours of Wednesday, has expressed the wish to reunite with her only surviving child.

Daily Trust had reported how gunmen whisked away the only female child during an attack at the family’s residence in Mubi Local Government Area of the state.

Reverend Daniel Umaru of the EYN Church Njairi, Mubi LGA, was shot in the attack while his sons were killed.

The reverend’s wife had slipped into coma as a result of the shocking incident, which happened hours after the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance team to Daura in Katsina State was attacked, Kuje Prison in Abuja invaded, while an Assistant Commissioner of Police was gunned down.

At the funeral service of her sons at EYN Headquarters in Kwarhi Maararba, Hong LGA of Adamawa, the bereaved mother broke down in tears.

She said she had forgiven her son’s killers, but expressed the desire to see her daughter again.

“We have forgiven them. May my sons rest in peace.”

Turning towards the coffins of her children, the teary woman added, “My prayer is that once you are buried, your sister would be found. I pray you go in peace. Your blood will bring back your sister.”

Women, children and even the men at the service could not fight back tears.

As of the tine of filing this report, it is unclear if the kidnappers had contacted the family over the teenage daughter in captivity.

Earlier while condemning the attack, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa charged security agencies to go after the killers.

“The State Government condemns in the strongest terms the despicable attack on this innocent family; the perpetrators of this heinous act must be brought to justice, and we have offered our full support to the Security Agencies to do so,” he had said.
