A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State led by Senator Kabir Marafa has described the decision of the party’s Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee to expel its chairman, Alhaji Sirajo Garba, as contempt of court.
The Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Committee had, in a letter dated August 26, 2020, addressed to the Zamfara State chairman of the party, signed by the APC National Secretary, Sen. John J. Akpanudoedehe, said Garba flouted the directive of the National Executive Committee (NEC).

I’m not to blame for APC loss in Zamfara – Sen Marafa
The APC NEC had on June 25, 2020, passed a resolution directing members of the party not to institute any court action and to withdraw their cases in court to explore the internal conflict resolution mechanisms of the party.
But the state publicity secretary for the Marafa faction, Alhaji Bello Bakyasuwa, told newsmen on Wednesday, in Abuja, that a court of competent jurisdiction had dissolved the state factional executives and ordered for fresh congresses, adding that the committee’s decision would spell doom for Zamfara APC.
