Young IDPs get free eye treatment, spectacles

Children at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp at Uhuogua in Ovia North-East Local in Edo State with eye problems are currently undergoing free treatment at the camp.
The exercise, which kick-off on Thursday, was organized by Rev. (Dr) Ferdinand Oriazonwan and his wife Dr. (Mrs) Tina.
Speaking to journalists, Dr. Oriazonwan said over 100 children with eye defects have been attended while those who need corrected glasses were given.
He however said they were overwhelmed by the number of children in the camp with eye problem, attributing the development to insurgency and climatic condition in the Northern part of the country.
The couple who came from Jos, Plateau State, said it was part of their contribution to help humanity, adding that they got to know about the IDP camp in the state through the facebook.
The Coordinator of the camp, Pastor Solomon Folunsho, commended the couple for the gesture and appealed to other spirited individuals and government to do more for IDPs in camps across the country.
