Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one of the party’s presidential aspirants, has said Nigerians need a president like him.
Tinubu made the statement while interacting with APC delegates in Damaturu, Yobe State capital, ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
He said he realized agriculture as one of the key potential areas of Yobe, saying if elected, he would devise a means of maximising its thereby attracting international market.
“I mentally pictured the millet, sorghum, corn, groundnuts and other produce that are coming out from this axis to the rest of the world, so I can say Yobe farmers are doing great but they need to be supported and encourage”.
He added that the first thing to do is to ensure that security is guaranteed, making it convenient for farmers to access their lands.
He said as a business man, his government would restore “Marketing Board”, a government organisation set up to control commodity pricing that was hitherto scrapped by the military regime.
“We need to have a fully secure country, our economy needs to be rejigged; we need non oil revenues, our children require quality and accessible education and much more, so you have the assurances of that if you vote for me.”
He commended Governor Buni for establishing an international cargo airport that will support import and export trade within and outside the state.
Tinubu was accompanied by his campaign Director General and former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, former Governor of Nasarawa State Senator Tanko Almakura, Kashim Imam, Nuhu Ribadu, among many others.
