Ruling on the motion, Justice Salisu Garba said the accused should explore the services of hospitals in the country.“We have perused the relief sought by the counsel; the court in its wisdom, feels that the accused may use such magnanimity to escape justice.
“There are varieties of good hospitals in the country that can handle the alleged ailment. The application is hereby rejected,’’ he said.
Odubiyi and six other senior officers of the commission were on April 22, arraigned by the EFCC on a 196-count charge.
Mrs Bridget Onche, who stood in for Mr Gowin Obla, the prosecution counsel, said the principal accused and six of his directors were charged with financial crimes and abuse of office. (NAN)
