The umbrella body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), on Tuesday raised the alarm over an alleged attempt on the life of their leader, Prof Banji Akintoye.
The body alleged that some assailants invaded the Ado Ekiti country home of Akintoye last week Saturday with the intention to kill him.

A statement in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday by the communications secretary of IOO, Maxwell Adeleye, said, “Luckily, Professor Banji Akintoye was not around at the time, and nobody was hurt.
“Bullets suspected to be from AK 47 rifles were recovered after they dropped from the ceiling onto the floor.”
But the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) in Ekiti, Sunday Abutu, said the command was not aware of the alleged attack.
He, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Mobayo, had ordered an investigation into the alleged incident.
