The umbrella body of Yoruba Christian youths in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State known as Itesiwaju Progressive Forum assembled with their Muslim counterparts in Kafanchan to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
Delivering a Keynote address at the event which took place at Ansaruddin Central Mosque in Kafanchan, the Coordinator, Centre for Leadership, Peace and Youth Development, Joel Olusayo Adegboyega, said the gathering was aimed at setting an example by shunning the things that divide them and promoting unity.
“We observed that we share the same market, football pitch, schools and physical outlook; why should religion put us apart. There must be a deliberate step to reunite us, to share the fun and happiness and to bring back the fun of yester-years, when tolerance and religious harmony were celebrated among our parents,” he said.
