“Credits to the players, they did the magic. It was never easy coming into the tournament with players pulling out and the short time to prepare for the tournament. We have played two great games so far.
“I am very pleased with the central defenders. Players come in and out. It is a partnership and not all about individual performance. This is what we keep working on. In the two games, it was only a penalty that was scored against us. It could have been ruled out but we are improving and have some sound players in and out,” he said.
Yobo further acknowledged that the Super Eagles are playing as a team and have maintained the same standard in their two matches and assured that they will do the same in their next match against Guinea- Bissau on Wednesday,
Meanwhile, Omeruo has said he is happy to partner Ekong in the absence of Leo Balogun.
“It was easy. He is someone I have played with a couple of times. Even when we are not playing, we are together. We have trained together. So it wasn’t difficult to play together. We just talked to ourselves, so it was good to have a good cover behind me,” he said.
