Yobe varsity reiterates ban of bikes on campus

The management of the Federal University Gashua (FUG) in Bade LGA of Yobe State has reiterated that the ban on the use of motorcycles within the university campus is still in force.

The warning was contained in a memo signed by the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), Alhaji Ahmed Isa Nguru, addressed to staff and students.

The memo reads in part: “Any violation of this directive shall be met with appropriate disciplinary action, including confiscation of the motorcycle.

“In the face of security challenges and the porous boundaries of the university premises, it has become necessary for the management to maintain the ban on the use of motorcycles within the campus.”

He, however, noted that staff with personal motorcycles were exempted from the ban but would only be allowed entry in and out of the university on identification and that stickers would be produced for the registration and identification of such motorcycles.
