‘Yobe North needs unity, consensus to produce first gov’

A former Yobe State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Sani Inuwan Nguru, has insisted that the Yobe North Senatorial district must be united and rally behind a consensus candidate to produce the next governor in the state.

Daily Trust learnt that in the past, politicians from the Yobe North have been blamed for putting their ambitions far and above the interest of the region when it came to jostling for the governorship.

The region has never produced a governor or deputy governor since the inception of Yobe as a state in 1991.

In his remark, Balarabe Abdullahi, a chieftain of the APC in the state, said the meeting was meant to unite and provide a solution to the problem of unemployment in the area through the collaboration with the indigenes of Nguru LG who are willing to see the development of the local government, Yobe North region and Yobe State at large.
