The Yobe State Government is to establish Islamic Police Hisbah to enforce Sharia Law and ensure that the state is free from social vices and un-Islamic practices.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chiroma A. Buba Mashio, made this known during a public hearing on a bill to establish the Yobe State Hisbah Commission and State ICT Agency and other connected matters 2023.
He said the establishment of the Hisbah Commission would sweep the state from all immoral acts and societal vices.
Mashio said the commission would enlighten the general public on Sharia Law and its application and monitor the proper implementation and application of laws relating to it.
