The newly constructed Gashua modern Market, constructed by Yobe State government was inaugurated yesterday by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan at a well attended ceremony in Gashua.
Governor Mai Mala Buni announced that the market was named after the Senate president because of his numerous support to the development of the people and Yobe State.

He said the new market would create job opportunities to the people and improve revenue drive.
Senator Lawan who expressed gratitude for the honour done to him, announced a donation of N200 million to 400 traders under his foundation, the SAIL Foundation Empowerment Scheme.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the donation judiciously for economic improvement.
