Yobe state government has distributed building materials and other items worth N120 million to the 595 flood Victims in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
The items includes cements, roofing wood, ceiling sheets, nails, paints, blankets, buckets, wrapper, tarpaulin among others.
The Permanent Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Musa Idi Jidawa, said at the flag off ceremony in Damaturu that the number of beneficiaries was compiled by Damaturu Emirate council and the Local government councils respectively.
He said the items are live saving materials that would ameliorating the suffering of the flood victims.
“You should use the materials to rebuild your houses and refrain from selling them in exchange for monetary value.”
“The distribution is base on the damages recorded and therefore have been categorized into three”, he said.
He thanked the state government for providing the victims with the live saving materials and urged the beneficiaries to utilize the items judiciously.
