Livestock and food reserves worth millions of naira were swept away by the flood. Unfortunately, four persons were reported dead while scores of others were injured,” Gubio said.
Meanwhile, Governor Mai Mala Buni said the state government would establish the Local Government Emergency Management Committee (LGEMC) at the local level for early response to disasters.
Buni made the statement Monday, in Abuja when he visited the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) over the flood incident in Yobe.
According to him, the committee’s main task was to provide first-line support to victims of the disaster before interventions from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
