The Yobe State government has approved and paid for the enrolment of 1,403 vigilantes into the state’s Contributory Healthcare informal sector programme.
The Executive Secretary of Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Dr Baba Gana Tijjani, stated this to newsmen in Damaturu, the state capital.
Dr Tijjani said the initiative aims to recognise the invaluable contributions of vigilantes to the security and well-being of the communities to ensure they have easy access to quality healthcare services without financial barriers and to replace the usual out-of-pocket expenditures.
He said the state government has demonstrated a sense of gratitude to the vigilantes’ dedication and bravery in maintaining peace and security across the state by extending healthcare coverage to them.
