New Technical Adviser of Yobe Desert Stars, Taiye Yusuf, has promised to steer the club from imminent relegation facing them in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The newly appointed took over from Ngozi Elechi, who was sacked by the management following the dwindling fortunes of the team in the top flight league.
Speaking to our correspondent on Monday, the club spokesman, Mr Jibo Zakari, said the new coach has promised to focus on the second half of the season to keep the hopes of the club alive.
He said that Kaduna-born coach has assured fans that, with their support and prayers, the club would, by the grace of God, survive relegation this season.
The team is presently at the bottom of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) group B table with 10 points from 12 matches.
The Managing Director of the club, Dr Abdulrahman Ago, had earlier told the players at their training session that Yusuf was not new to the club.
He said the new coach had served the team right from the lower division to the Nigeria elite league and acquired a lot of experience which he would use to turn its fortune around.
He urged the players to cooperate with the new coach and give him maximum support for the club to attain the desired result.
