The Yobe South Qur’anic Recitation Competitors’ Association has awarded Deputy Governor  Abubakar Aliyu for his remarkable service to Islam through the initiation and facilitation of Quranic recitation competition in the zone.

The Mai of Potiskum, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya, who presented the award on behalf of the Emir of Fika, described the deputy governor’s action as a flowing charity, adding that it would facilitate reading and understanding of the Holy Qur’an as well as promote true love and brotherhood among the Muslim Ummah.

Responding, the deputy governor commended the organizing committee for its commitment to promoting Qur’anic recitation competition and called on individuals to join hands to promote the exercise for the sake of Allah.

He said promoting Qur’anic recitation and assisting orphans should be given special attention for peace and stability.
