Yobe: APC clears all but one assembly seat

The APC in Yobe State has won 23 of the 24 House of Assembly seats in Saturday’s governorship and state legislature elections.

The party lost Nguru State Constituency seat to PDP after many years of unsuccessful battle in the local government area bordering Jigawa State in northern part of Yobe.

The winner, Lawan Sani, is the  son of a former Yobe State chairman of the PDP, Inuwa Sani Nguru, who defected to APC recently and was received by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The returning officer for the election, Dr. Abacha Mailemi of Federal University, Gashua, declared that Sani, popularly called Mr Last, scored 19,793 to defeat the incumbent member, Hon. Shuaibu Danladi Usman of APC who scored 11,395.

The APC in Yobe had won all the elective positions including the governorship, three senatorial, six House of Representatives and 23 state assembly seats.
