Yes Foundation has emerged winners of the recently held Professional Football Association’s U-13 tournament staged in Kwali Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Yes Foundation scored two second-half goals to beat Maracana FC 2-0 in the finals played at the Kwali mini stadium.
Speaking at the end of the tournament, the chairman of the FCT Football Association, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, represented by Coach Mansur Abdullahi expressed satisfaction with the performance of the youngsters.
“I am pleased with what I have seen. The performance of both teams was satisfying. I want to congratulate the winners and runners up. We want to replicate this across the FCT,” he said.
The Chairman of the Super 8 football competition, Mr Daniel Etsu, said the U-13 football competition was organised to positively engage the youths in the Area Council.
Apart from youth engagement and harnessing of talents, he said the youth competition was aimed at fostering unity and peace in the area.
Etsu, therefore, congratulated the two finalists and urged the second-placed team to work harder in future tournaments.
LOC Chairman, Sani Ibrahim also said he was happy that the competition ended peacefully.
While thanking his committee members for ensuring a hitch-free tournament, he expressed hope that future editions of the tournament won’t fall short of expectations.
