The items distributed include 150 bags of 50kg rice and 47 cartons of vegetable oil among others. Presenting the items, Mrs Yero appealed to both Christians and Muslims to tolerate one another so that the state can move forward noting that without peace and unity, there can be no development.
She urged followers of the two religions to see each other as partners in progress and instruments of service to God and not agents of destruction while stressing that God has reasons for creating Muslims and Christians to live together.
Mrs. Yero urged the beneficiaries to accept the items as a sign of government’s commitment towards giving the less privileged a sense of belonging. She also urged those saddled with the responsibility of sharing the items to exhibit the fear of God in the exercise to ensure that they reach the targeted groups.
