Yemi Alade: I’m under pressure to get married

Popular Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has lamented that her family is mounting pressure on her to get married as soon as possible.

Alade said the most challenging part about the issue is that the pressure was from the she respects.

The music artiste said she was not feeling pressured to get married, but admitted it has been difficult to resist.

Alade made all these known in a recent interview with Cool FM, stressing that it is pertinent to tie nuptial knots with the right partner.

She maintained that rushing into marriage because of family or peer pressure is not to be entertained.

“People often get married, especially towards the end of every year. I am not feeling pressured. When the time is right, it will happen,” she said.

“Family pressure is a challenging thing to resist because it is coming from the people you respect and look up to, insisting that you should get married.

“But I believe that if they genuinely have the best interests at heart, they would wait with you because it is more important to have the right partner than to just get married.

“But aside from that, I do not think anyone should be in so much rush to make the wrong decision of being with the wrong partner.”

The 34-year-old Abia-born singer is one the most successful and beautiful females artiste in Nigeria.

Her music incorporates Afro; Highlife, Dancehall, Pop, and R&B, which makes her one of the most popular singers in Africa.

With her versatility in using different African languages and attires in her songs and music videos, Alade has not displayed much of her love life in public.

In 2022, she joined the ‘carry me dey go my husband house’ challenge.
