Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, on Tuesday, said the reconciliation of the factional leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state will not affect the fortunes of their party, come 2023.
The feud between the camps of former governor Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa over the APC primaries cost the party the governorship and other elective positions in the state in 2019.

The national caretaker committee of the APC under the chairmanship of Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State reconciled Yari and Marafa on Monday.
But some PDP loyalists who spoke with Daily Trust said the reconciliation will not affect their party in the 2023 general elections.
“Their reconciliation will not affect the votes the PDP will rake in in the next elections. Our supporters are intact and we are still with them. So there is no cause for alarm,” PDP’s spokesman in the state, Alhaji Farouk Ahmad, said.
In his reaction, the Special Adviser to the governor on Politics, Alhaji Ibrahim Ma’aji Gusau, also said the reconciliation would not in any way affect the fortunes of the party in the state.
“It is the people that will make their choice at last. They will decide to vote for A or B and this will not detract us from doing what is right to transform the lives of the people in the state, after all, the power to change or make is on the thumbs of the residents,” he said.
