A business mogul, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaib Yaman, on Wednesday, emerged the candidate of the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Yaman, after the election that was monitored by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), scored 518 votes to beat Hon Ahman Patigi and Prof. Yisa Gana, who poll 31 votes and 14 votes respectively.
The governorship candidate of the opposition party was the campaign director of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in Kwara North during the 2015 election.
He however dumped the APC for the PDP in March 2022 to contest the gubernatorial ticket which the party zoned to his district.
An indigene of Shonga in Edu Local Government Area, he also contested the governorship seat in 2003 and later the Kwara North Senatorial seat on the platform of the ACPN in 2011.
