The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has sworn in Haruna Isah, a newly elected federal lawmaker from Kogi state.
The speaker swore him in at the plenary today.
Isah, who contested under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and polled 26,860 votes to defeat Bashir Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was elected during August’s bye-election in Lokoja/Koton-Karfe federal constituency.
The election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of Umar Jibrin (APC Kogi), former house minority leader who occupied the seat previously.
