Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has presented N154,610,614 budget for 2022 to the Gombe State House of Assembly.
In the budget tagged, “Budget of Consolidation,” Yahaya said N69, 117,214,000 was earmarked for recurrent (44.7 per cent) and N85,493,400,000 (55.3 per cent) for capital expenditure.

He said the budget would be financed by estimated recurrent revenue of N73.626billion and capital receipts of N79.865billion, with an estimated closing balance of N4.881billion.
The works and infrastructure got the largest share of N20.910bn, trailed by housing and urban development with an allocation of N7bn, water resources – N6.238bn, and health sector – N6bn.
The governor said he intended to consolidate gains made by his administration in the last two years and half years with the budget.
He added that the 2021 budget performance as of September 30 was 68.5 per cent.
Speaker Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewol said the assembly would ensure diligence, expeditious deliberations and passage of the budget for the progress of the state.
He commended the governor for assent to the financial autonomy for the legislative and judiciary, which he said would improve their oversight function and aid separation of powers as enshrined in the constitution.
