The Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, has emerged winner of the South West Games (SOWEGA), as they topped the medal tables with 89 medals.
The 1st SOWEGA Games tagged ‘Ogun 2021’, took place between September 28 and October 7 in Ogun State.

The games attracted sportsmen and women from tertiary institutions and security agencies operating in the South Western part of Nigeria.
Athletes took part in 12 sporting activities which included athletics, football, chess, scrabble, basketball, volleyball.
The tournament which ended on Thursday in Sagamu saw YabaTech, winning 31 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals.
Lagos State Polytechnic came second with 30 gold medals, 28 silver and 27 Bronze Medals while the Polytechnic, Ibadan took the third position with 11 Gold, 10 silver and 24 bronze medals.
Also on the medals table are, Federal University, Oye – Ekiti with 6 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze; Osun State Polytechnic with 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze; Oke Ogun Polytechnic has 2 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze. The University of Ibadan won three Silver and 6 bronze.
