The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Navy, Yusuf Gagdi, has empowered over 2,000 of his constituents comprising youths, women and elders with cash gifts and foodstuff to celebrate Christmas.
The lawmaker, who represents Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State, doled out ₦20,000 to each beneficiary and also distributed over 3,600 bags of rice and 30 cows to Christian leaders and communities across his constituency.
Among the items distributed are grinding and sewing machines; water pumps for irrigation farming, as well as bundles of roofing zinc and mattresses for victims of floods and windstorms.
Gagdi, who presented the items worth over N100m at the Mini Stadium, Dengi, Kanam LGA, said the gesture was to support not only his Christian constituents, but the generality of Christians in Plateau, particularly the less privileged, to enable them to celebrate Christmas with ease.

Gagdi said since he became a representative of his people in the National Assembly he had been giving out rice and cows to the people during Christmas and Sallah.
