The Commissioner of Police (CP) in Benue State, Wale Abass, has ordered water-tight security through special deployment as part of preparations for the end of year celebrations.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Catherine Anene, in a statement on Tuesday, noted that the order was with immediate effect.
Anene said the CPs order was to all area and tactical commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to deploy officers in accordance with the command’s Ember Months operation order on hot spots, exit and entry routes, as well as crowded places.
She said, “The CP has also ordered officers to strengthen enforcement of the ban on the use of ‘spy number plates’ by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).”
