Xenophobia: Ibadan Bodija MTN office burnt

The Bodija officer of the giant telecommunications company, MTN Nigeria, was burnt down by irate youths on Wednesday morning as a reprisal attack on Nigerians in the South Africans.

As at Tuesday night, officers had taken over major businesses of the South Africans in Ibadan when some youths staged a peaceful protest at the Dugbe branches of Shoprite and Stanbic IBTC Bank over killing of Nigerians in South Africa.

Our correspondent who visited Dugbe area of the ancient city on Tuesday evening reports that police officers mounted their vans numbering about eight around the Shoprite.

Daily Trust reports that as at the Tuesday evening, the youths did not disturb operation of the company, though they caused a stir in the entire shopping mall which houses several other retailers and the historic Cocoa House.
