Ekiti State government has presented N10million cheques to the best teachers in primary and secondary schools in the state, Mrs Adeyeni Omolade and Mrs Mary Kupolati, respectively.
Also, 26 other teachers received N100,000 each as consolation prizes to celebrate the 2022 World Teachers Day in the state.

The outgoing state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, in his address to the teachers, said it was a token of appreciation for their efforts and commitment to the teaching profession.
He said his government had executed 886 projects and paid N1 billion for 57,465 public school students to sit for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination in the state.
He commended all the teachers in the state for their loyalty and dedication to the teaching profession.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary School (ASUSS) in the state, Sola Adigun, called on the government to pay all the benefits due for the teachers before the expiration of the government.
Adigun urged the government to cash back the promotion of teachers and upgrade them to Grade level 17 in the state.
