Stakeholders including professors of history and peace and conflict strategists among others have called for the improved situation of the plight of the Palestinians and the Internationally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across the country.

This, they noted, becomes imperative because of the pitiable plight of the Palestinian refugees who have been displaced from their ancestral homes due to no fault of theirs and the worsening living conditions of IDPs in the country.

Speaking at a press conference in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Monday to mark the World Refugees Day, Vice-Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Prof Noah Yusuf said the Palestinians were key to any discussion on refugees globally.

In her remarks, the Acting Director, Centre for Peace and Security Studies, Al-Hikmah University, Dr Ruth Abiola Adimula, said more than 100 million people had been forced to flee war, conflicts and persecution from South Sudan, Ethiopia, Central African Republic, Ukraine, Nigeria and other parts of the world.
