It will be recalled that the Shehu Ibrahim Gusau last month said he had been locked out of the official e-mail of the federation by World Athletics.

In a letter addressed via WhatsApp to all World Athletics member federations, Gusau accused both World Athletics and the Confederation of African Athletics of working with the Nigerian government to undermine his power as president of AFN.

‘’Since then our Federation has been locked out of our official mailbox ([email protected]). We have sent several emails and made several calls to WA IT Ticket to resolve the problem, thinking it was a technical problem,” he said then.

Meanwhile, the AFN has received with great shock, the press release by the Athletics Integrity Unit, suspending Blessing Okagbare for a doping test violation.

“The Federation is in the process of obtaining the relevant details of the announcement after which a full reaction will be issued,” Okowa said in a statement.
