The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has budgeted N2.1 billion for projects in unidentified schools and for membership subscriptions for the International Road Federal (IRF) and Trans-Saharan Road Liaison Committee.
The ministry, with a proposed N481bn along with six other agencies, has N10bn for personnel cost, N627bn for overhead and N382bn for capital projects.

According to the highlights of the 2022 budget, they are part of the selected projects in the budget. The N100 million pegged for subscription to the two organisations, has (ETC) after it, to suggest payment for other organisations.
An effort to check the annual payment made to the organisation was not successful, but a document downloaded from the website of the IRF stated that membership application payment is between N6.6m and N7.7m for National/Federal members ($6,200 – $18,900, based on country’s GDP).
A message on the website of its chairman, Engr. Abdullah Al-Mogbel, said, “Since 1948, the IRF’s mission has been to encourage and promote the development and maintenance of better, safer and more sustainable roads. Today, there has never been a better time to be part of the global network of IRF members.”
The ministry proposed N2.2bn for the construction of classrooms without identifying the schools to benefit from the intervention or the states, it was found.
Following the same pattern, N985m was proposed for the construction of Primary Health Centres, N1bn for skills acquisition centres, N519m for solar-powered boreholes and N496 for the provision of electrification and transformers.
