Teachers, who are members of various unions affiliated to Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) have arrived the Eagle Square in Abuja to celebrate 2021 International Workers’ Day.
May 1st of every year has been set aside to mark International Workers’ Day.

The unions Daily Trust sighted at the venue of the celebration, include: NUT, SSANU, NUPENG, PENGASSAN, JOHESU, MHWUN, NMA. NARD, ASUU, ASUP among others.
The workers, who are waiting for government officials to arrive, are singing solidarity songs with different placards showing their displeasure about current situation in the country.
A unionist, Mohammed Aliyu, in a short interview with Daily Trust, stated that they will use the celebration to pass a strong message to government at all levels.
”We are here to join our counterpart across the world to celebrate May Day, and we are equally here to pass a strong message to Federal, State and Local governments over rising insecurity in the country, inflation, our welfare and other pertinent issues,” he said.
