Work with technocrats to actualise renewed hope agenda, Tinubu urged

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to consider professionals and technocrats for key appointments in his administration to enable him deliver on his Renewed Hope agenda for Nigeria.

The Nigerian Forum of Northern Professionals and Technocrats, in a communiqué issued by its National Leader, Ambassador G.S. Ibrahim, and Secretary, Alhaji Yekini Adeniyi, at the end of their annual conference Tuesday in Abuja, said those who campaigned vigorously for the APC in the last elections like the director (legal) of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Hassan Liman (SAN), should be considered for key appointments.

The communique reads in part: “His appointment as a cabinet member will rekindle belief and hope for a more progressive and meaningful administration in which experienced professionals and technocrats are given the opportunity to contribute to nation building.

“Armed with track records in the legal profession, Hassan Liman (SAN), a strong supporter of the ruling APC and President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has contributed his wealth of knowledge and finances to Tinubu’s grassroots movements.

“His commitment to the campaign that produced the ‘Renewed Hope’ administration attest to the fact that the erudite legal luminary will add impetus to the ongoing bid to revamp the country.”

Retain Buhari’s best brains – Odii

Similarly, the Foundation for African Development (FAD), in a statement Tuesday in Abuja by its Country Director, Mr Stanley Odii, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to retain the “best brains” in the immediate past administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari to complement his effort in implementing the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda for Nigeria.

He alluded to the re-appointment of the Director General of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Samuel Ogboku, and urged Tinubu to do same to other Buhari appointees whose public service record was clean and plausible.

He said, “We want to remind President Tinubu that some of the Buhari appointees supported his election bid, and the best way to encourage them will not be to disgrace them out of office, but rather to retain them.”

“Nigerians from all walks of life, from the North and South, Christians and Muslims, voted for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We believe what was paramount in the mind of the electorates was to have a Nigeria bound in unity and love irrespective of where anyone is coming from.”
