Edo Refinery has commenced repair work on the failed portions of the Benin-Sapele road as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The project’s site engineer, Sunday Airienbuwa, who spoke to journalists, said the work was a joint effort of Peayang Chemical Equipment Corporation (PCC) and African Investment Partner (AIP); co-founders of Edo Refinery.
Engr. Airienbuwa said the repairs were to ameliorate the suffering experienced by commuters due to the bad portions of the road.
According to him, the bad portions have hindered commercial activities in the area, noting that the time frame for the work was one week.
The company’s Head of Community Relations, Mr. Segun Okene, said the cardinal point of Edo Refinery was to make life meaningful for the people, especially those within its host community.
Earlier, the Project Director of Edo Refinery, Tim Tian, said as a benefactor of the community, they needed to fix the bad portions of the road for smooth and free flow in moving their products to other states of the federation.
