To Maryam Lawan Gwadabe, it is not unusual for parents persuaded to enroll their kids in computer lessons to exclude the girls, mostly for cultural or personal reasons.

And that’s just the bridge she is struggling to bridge. So far, she has succeeded in empowering more than 7,000 women in northern Nigeria with digital skills.
