If you are a young Nigerian and grew up watching the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), chances are Eugenia Abu was part of your childhood.
Mrs Abu is a seasoned broadcaster who spent 17 years of her life anchoring NTA’s Network News.
She also held several positions, like Head of NTA International, Head of Presentation, Head of Creative Writing and Head, Customer Service among, rising to the top of her profession as Executive Director, Programmes, before her retirement in 2017 after thirty-four and a half years of meritorious service.

- She is the Managing Partner/CEO of The Eugenia Abu Media center, a creative, reading, media and training hub in Abuja.
- She consults for ECOWAS on media and peace building during elections across the West African sub-region and the National Democratic Institute on improving communication skills of female politicians.
- She served as member of the Editorial Board of This Day Newspapers.
- She was on the Nigeria Vision 2020 Committee.
- She worked with the Inclusive Friends Association and Save the Children UK on training journalists on appropriate language in reporting people with disabilities in Nigeria.
- She was a high level moderator at the NeXT CEO Summit in Mauritius.
- She is currently a Judge on the OFAB Africa Media Awards, the National Maltina Teachers Award as well as the PricewaterhouseCoopers, PWC, Media Excellence Awards in Business reporting.
- She is a lecturer at Bingham University, where she teaches International Broadcasting and Specialized Reporting.
- She is a Chevening scholar and USIS fellow.
- She is the author of two books, the prize winning In the Blink of an Eye (an essay collection) and the critically acclaimed Don’t Look at Me Like That, a collection of poems.
