The Women in Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) Kaduna Zone, on Monday donated a e-Library to the Government Secondary School (GSS) Kabusa, Kabusa Abuja.

Speaking during the commissioning, the chairperson, women in PENGASSAN, Kaduna Zone, Comrade Hassan Hasiya Audu, said that the event was part of activities marking this year’s International Day of the Girl Child.

She said that the event was part of activities marking this year’s International Day of the Girl Child and that the donation of the e-library to the school, was to help promote their computer skills as the association is passionate about improving the latent skills of girl-child.

She said that the school was chosen because the association observed that the students are not internet savvy, hence the need for them to become computer literate, hence the theme: “Digital Generation Our Generation”.

On their part, students of the school commended lauded the women in PENGASSAN, Kaduna Zone, for the gesture, saying it would help promote their computer skills.

They said that they have been learning computer as a subject theoretically without the practical knowledge.

A SS 2 student of the school, Bose Adewusi, said that they have been learning computer in the school without practical knowledge of the subject.

She also urged the federal government through the FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) to donate more computers to the school and other schools.

Also, Prince Marvelous, lauded the donations of the computers, saying computer serves as a reservoir for the storage of important research data, information, and findings.

Marvelous who is in SS3 said besides that it will help develop their computer skills, it will provide instant access to educational content.
