A body of an unidentified woman was recovered on Friday morning by a riverside close to Al-Amin Mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Some residents said the woman, believed to be in her early thirties, was found lifeless and naked with only pants on her.

Daily Trust gathered that the police and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have evacuated the body to a morgue.
A resident of the area told our correspondent that; “it was one of my neighbours that alerted us that we should come and see what he saw.
“The lady in her 30, found naked only with pants on her, and there was a cut on her neck.
“It happened at the riverside, behind the Al-Amin Mosque.
“We immediately alerted the police, and they have come to evacuate the body to the morgue.
“It was a sad development.”
