A nursing mother, Fatima Abubakar, has dragged her former husband before a Sharia court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna over feeding allowance for her eight children.
According to her, her former husband, Mohammed Khalid, divorced her two months ago and stopped taking care of the children.

The woman said she and her children now live at her brother’s house.
“I want the court to ask him to give us N50,000 feeding allowance monthly, rent a room for us and to also pay the children’s school fees. These are all his responsibilities,” she said.
But, the ex-husband, Mohammed Khalid, denied abandoning his responsibilities, saying his former wife and her brother stopped picking up his calls each time he wanted to come to visit.
He pleaded with the court to order the wife to return the children to him for their custody.
The Sharia judge, Murtala Nasir, who advised them to go back home to involve their elders in finding a solution, adjourned the case to February 10, 2022.
