A middle-aged woman, Halima Bello and her 17-years-old son, Yusuf Bello have been abducted by gunmen in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan who confirmed the abduction to journalists said the victims were abducted yesterday in the Dogarawa area of Sabon gari Local Government Area of the state.
The police spokesman however assured the public of the determination of the police to rescue the abductees as soon as possible.
A vigilante member in the area explained to journalists that the bandits, who arrived during the early hours of Monday at about 2am invaded the Dogarawa area with sophisticated weapons.

According to him, the gunmen numbering about 15 entered the residence of Alhaji Bello where they abducted his wife and son.
He added that Alhaji Adamu Bello was also attacked but narrowly escaped with a wound in his hand and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
The vigilante further disclosed that the bandits however spared the remaining two tenants in the residence but tied and locked them up in their respective rooms after carrying out their operation.
