Woman shot dead after N1m ransom in Delta

Kidnappers have shot dead a 60-year-old woman, Ebikabo-Ere Oyas Officer, after collecting a N1 million ransom in Tamigbe town in Burutu LGA of Delta State.

 A source said, “There is tension in Tamigbe town in Burutu LGA following the activities of gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

“They have killed a 60-year-old woman, Ebikabo-Ere Oyas Officer, after collecting some money. They shot her skull to pieces. Her remains were found by her family members who got wind of the horrendous killing after paying a ransom.’’

When contacted, the state’s police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, said, “The suspected kidnappers collected N1m before they killed her. The police have launched a serious manhunt for the suspected kidnappers.

“I assure you that the police will continue to search for the killers of the woman until they are brought to book.”

He added that, “Over 13 suspected kidnappers have been arrested and arraigned in court in the last few weeks in the state.”
