A 17-year-old girl identified as Zainab Abdullahi has been inflicted with wounds after a woman poured hot water on her at Down Quarters in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Daily Trust gathered that the incident which took place on Saturday has left the 17-year-old girl fighting for her life at the emergency unit of the 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.

The victim’s aunt, Bilkisu Yahya, told reporters that Zainab who lived on Nasarawa Road off Ahmadu Bello Way, went to Down Quarters to collect a memory card sent to her by her boyfriend through the woman’s husband when the incident happened.
Bilkisu explained that, “She went to the house to collect the card since she was used to the woman. When she got to the house the woman was cooking, but she woke her husband up to give Zainab the memory card, and while the husband was looking for the memory card, the suspect offered Zainab food but she declined.
“After a while, the woman came out of the kitchen holding a container with hot water and poured it on Zainab.”
She added that the husband of the suspect who is a police constable took Zainab to the police workshop on Independence Way from where she was later moved to the Barau Dikko Hospital.”
She further said, “After we exhausted the money we had, they suggested we took her to the 44 Army Reference Hospital.
The police spokesman in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the incident, saying it was under investigation and that they had intensified effort to arrest the suspect who is at large.
