A housewife in Masaka, Nasarawa State, Rashidat Ibrahim, has allegedly  killed her husband by pouring acid on him.

The incident, City & Crime learnt, happened on Sunday night in the Apo area of Masaka.

It was gathered that the deceased, Tanko Ibrahim (42), married Rashidat 12 years ago, but that lately they had been having a running battle over his decision to marry a second wife.

A source told City & Crime that after one of their quarrels, Rashidat moved out of the house and stayed out for five years and that Ibrahim married another woman after she moved out.

A brother to the deceased, Sule Ibrahim, told our reporter that, “My brother had always been complaining about Rashidat. Sometimes she would not serve him food.

“For peace to reign, he invited us to talk to his wife. People waded in on Friday and talked to her, but she didn’t say anything.

“On Sunday morning, we heard noise from her husband’s quarters. We rushed down and discovered that she had bathed our brother with acid. His body was already peeling.

“We took him to a hospital but he was rejected. We took him somewhere else but he eventually died Monday morning.”

Another brother of the deceased, Isah Ibrahim, who noted that the remains had been buried according to Islamic rites, said his family was searching for the woman.

There was no reaction from the Nasarawa State Police Command on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
