Woman headless corpse found in Kwara

An unidentified body of a woman has been found around checking point, Airport Road in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital.

A resident who simply identified himself as Mr Muri told our correspondent on Monday that “the corpse was discovered at the weekend.”

According to him, “But the curious thing is that it was without a head and also the arms and feet were also missing”, Muri added.

Contacted, the spokesman of the Kwara police command, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident.

He, however, identified the corpse as an accident victim.

“Yes, it’s true, it happened around NASFAT area but I think it was a case of an accident.

“We suspect that the head and other parts were lost from the impact of the incident. The corpse does not suggest any ritual-related activity,” he submitted.

Okasanmi added that the police had deposited the corpse at the morgue of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
