Speaking to our reporter on his hospital bed, the widower said the deceased was the one who served him breakfast and drove their children to school on the day in the morning.

“I later left home with the intention to travel to Lagos for my business, and she even met me at Kubwa Express and gave me one of my phones which I left behind at home. It was some minutes into the journey that was informed over her sudden death.”

Also speaking, a family associate of the couple who was in the hospital during the visit, said he met her at her provision shop, within the neighbourhood.

“She was complaining of stomach upset after taking some concoction which she showed to me inside a plastic bottle. She said she had taken a little dose using the bottle’s cover, but after sensing that there was no reaction, she drank directly from the bottle. I asked her whether she had had her breakfast ahead of that, to which she answered no.”

Husband of the deceased wondered why his wife, who was never sick took the said concoction.

The remains of the deceased have been buried after some disagreement between the husband and family members of the late women over burial rites.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer of Kubwa, CSP Bello Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, said investigation was ongoing.
